Vision

The Bit Source Education initiative hopes to expand 21st century skills to reshape Central Appalachia by creating opportunities for digital literacy focusing on computational thinking and an entrepreneurial mindset. The courses that we offer will expose students to introductory level computer science through fun, hands-on activities to build digital literacy.

Director of Digital Literacy

Traci Tackett

Traci is a long time educator with over 30 years of experience. She currently is the onsite director for the “Tough as Nails, Nimble Fingers: Developing a K-8 Coding Pathway for Kentucky Appalachia” NSF grant. Traci also leads Remake Learning days for Eastern Kentucky through SOAR. As part of Bit Source she directs Digital Literacy, and works to create tech opportunities for students in the region.
